The Essex Cat Club is an all breed club affiliated to the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy [GCCF]. The club was formed on 9th November 1968 by a group of enthusiasts to meet the needs of the large number of cat owners in the Essex area and to harness the great interest in cats existing throughout the county. Although our regional centre is Essex and the surrounding area, our members stretch throughout the UK. Our foundation is a love of cats, both pedigree and non pedigree.

The Essex aims to encourage a greater interest in pedigree cats and foster a better appreciation of cats in general. We offer advice and help on matters of welfare for owners of pedigree and non-pedigree cats as well as information on breeding pedigree cats and showing your cat. We hold an annual Championship Show each April with classes for both pedigrees and non-pedigrees.

We represent the interests of our members through our GCCF delegate. In addition to our annual Championship show we old an Annual General Meeting each spring, and encourage our members to take this opportunity to come along and express their views and get together for a chat.
